Studio Aflora

Studio Aflora is a ceramic practice rooted in slow, intentional making and inspired by the quiet rhythms of the natural world.

Founded in Tāmaki Makaurau/Auckland by artist Madison Nixon, Studio Aflora creates one of a kind handmade pieces that celebrate the tactile beauty of raw clay and the subtle tones found in nature.

Nature has always been the muse. Raw, evolving, imperfect, and endlessly beautiful. The name Aflora was born from this connection. A quiet nod to the flora and fauna that surround us, and to the living thread between art, people, and place.

Studio Aflora remains rooted in its original ethos. Art and nature are meant to be lived with, not just looked at. Each object, whether a plate, bowl, or sculptural form, is designed to feel grounded and quietly essential in the home.

Madison Nixon is the ceramicist and artist behind Studio Aflora.

Her creative path began in painting, particularly with oils, where she found joy in florals, organic patterns, and earthy, expressive colour palettes.
